Waratah-Mayfield District Cricket Club (WMDCC) Newcastle

Waratah-Mayfield District Cricket Club (WMDCC) is Newcastle’s most successful district cricket club. Established in 1924 from an amalgamation of Dangar Park Cricket Club and Waratah Cricket Club, WMDCC has won the Newcastle district club championship 24 times. We have a proud history and tradition within the club and look forward to many more successful seasons.

If you are looking for a club to develop as a cricketer and aspire to greater achievements, then WMDCC is the club for you. We at Waratah-Mayfield always strive to play fair and competitive cricket, and also appreciate the importance of the social aspects of membership.

WMDCC was formed in 1924 from an amalgamation of Dangar Park Cricket Club and Waratah Cricket Club. Our official colours are navy and red. We have a close association with Waratah Junior Cricket Club.

Affiliated with the Senior Club, the Waratah-Mayfield Juniors support cricket for kids primarily from the Waratah-Mayfield and nearby suburbs of Newcastle. Many young players from the junior club have gone on to play high grade  and representative cricket

Waratah-Mayfield District Cricket Club hosts an annual 7s cricket competition in January. Its a great social occasion for both grade and casual cricketers to get together and play on the best cricket ground in Newcastle.
