2nd and 3rd grade both made big steps towards a finals berth on the weekend, securing outright victories against Hamilton-Wickham.

2nd Grade bowled Hamwicks out for 79 last Saturday in a strong team performance, and skipper Jack Dundas declared 60 in front to give them a shot at the outright. 2nds finished the job on Saturday, but it wasn't easy, eventually bowling Hamwicks out for 143, leaving themselves an 84 run chase from 22 overs to get the job done.

3rd Grade had the strongest performance of the grade sides, dominating their match from start to finish. They bowled Hamwicks out for 55 last week, and declared early on the second day at 3/212 with openers Josh Payne (85 not out) and Kieran Brackenbury (72) getting the job done. Hamwicks fought hard in their second innings, but were eventually rolled for 131, giving our guys a comfortable innings win. David Sutherland and Ben Jenkins were the pick of the bowlers with 5 wickets each.

In the other grades, 1sts performed well, but a poor half hour before lunch on day 1 ultimately cost them the game. We had Hamwicks 9/81, before letting them escape and reach 169 from their first dig, and finished 22 runs short in the chase. Jono Twomey took 7/50 in a brilliant spell, and in the second innings, Aron Tisher gave us hope of a reverse outright with 8/66, completing a 10 wicket haul for the match.

4th grade toiled hard, but were outclassed by Hamwicks batting lineup, with their 167 chased down on day 2. The C&S sides split wins across the 2 weeks with some mixed results. C3s now sit in 5th place, needing a few wins to make finals. D2s are 4th on the ladder with a game's lead over 5th, and D7s are second on the ladder after a few big hundreds from Troy Harvey in recent weeks.
